We Miss The 90s & 2000's Music Festival - The Spring Break Oldschool Reunion Cookout & Smokeout

A throwback night worth the drive from Venice: We Miss The 90s & 2000s Music Festival

We miss the 90s and 2000s music festival

If you live in Venice and you still get excited when a 90s hip hop classic comes on, this is your sign to plan a fun night out. We Miss The 90s & 2000's Music Festival: The Family Reunion Cookout is coming to Charlotte County Fairgrounds in Port Charlotte, and it’s set up like the kind of party we used to love. Big music, big energy, and the kind of crowd that shows up ready to dance.

This is being promoted as SWFL’s biggest linedance and throwback party, and the theme is exactly what it sounds like. A family reunion cookout vibe with a full festival experience, complete with vendors, food trucks, full bars, and nonstop throwback music that makes you feel 20 years younger the moment the beat drops.

The music is basically a time machine

You know those songs where the first few seconds hit and suddenly you’re smiling for no reason? That’s the soundtrack here. Expect familiar anthems like “Cupid Shuffle,” “Tootsee Roll,” “C’mon Ride That Train,” “Sally That Girl,” and “The Cabbage Patch,” plus a steady stream of 90s and 2000s favorites that keep the dance floor packed.

Whether you’re a “watch from the side at first” person or you’re the one pulling your friends out there immediately, this is the type of event that makes it easy to join in. The dances are familiar, the vibe is playful, and nobody’s judging. Everyone’s just having a good time.

A lineup made for the grown-up throwback crowd

The headliners are a big reason this night feels like a true reunion instead of just another themed party.

Cupid, known as the King of Line Dancing, is set to headline, bringing the energy behind the “Cupid Shuffle” and more crowd-moving favorites. 69 Boyz are on the bill too, with the kind of bass-era hits that still spark instant nostalgia. Gucci Crew II rounds it out with that Florida-grown Miami bass flavor that made parties unforgettable. The schedule also includes Jah Rockaz, giving the night a little SWFL twist.

Make a whole day of it, or come for the main event

One of the best parts is that this isn’t only a nighttime concert. It’s planned as a full-day experience, so you can choose your own pace.

The day kicks off with wellness sessions from 12 PM to 4 PM for anyone who wants a calmer start. There’s also an Auto Cruise scheduled from 2:30 PM to 6:30 PM in the main parking lot, which adds that extra community feel before the main stage energy ramps up. Gates open and the music festival begins at 4:20 PM, then it keeps rolling with performances, DJ sets, contests, giveaways, and an on-site afterparty to end the night on a high note.

Come hungry, come curious

This festival is more than the stage. The organizer is promoting around 70 vendors, plus food trucks, arts and crafts, clothing, and health and wellness offerings. That means you’re not just standing around between sets. You can shop, grab something to eat, catch the contests, and make it a full hang with your people.

Why it’s perfect for Venice

The best part for locals is that Port Charlotte is a quick drive from Venice, so you get that “we went out and did something fun” feeling without turning it into a whole travel day. It’s the kind of event that’s easy to say yes to, especially if you’ve been needing a night that feels light, social, and genuinely fun.

Bring comfortable shoes or boots, because you’re probably going to dance more than you expect. And if you’ve got a 90s outfit idea you’ve been waiting to wear, this is the night.
